Small Meet, Big Results!
The meet might have been small in stature, but it was big in results. Of the 94 events swam, 48 of them were swam in meet record times! HBT swimmers swam to 35 of those 48 new meet records.
Abby (Reggie) Williamson continued her dominant swimming by breaking 10 meet records in the 9-10 girls age group events. Sammy Steele (13) swam to 8 new meet records, while Nicole Smith (12), Kylie VanLandingham (12) and Alan Parsons (16) added their name to 3 new meet records. Other HBT swimmers with new meet records were: Molly Steele (12), Nami Odashima (10), Katelyn Duke (17), Peyton Clutts (14) and Finley Clutts (16).
Abby and Sam also set some new team records. Sam swam to 5 new team records (100, 200, 1650 free, 200 fly, 100 breast), while Abby nabbed 2 more (100 breast, 200 free). Peyton Clutts (14) snagged the team record in the 100 back.
In addition 3 HBT swimmers made Senior Sectionals cuts: Katelyn Duke (200 fly); Nicole Smith (200 back) and Sam Steele (200 free).
Several swimmers achieved new SE Championship cuts: Caitlin Bullard (13)- 400 IM, 1000 free; Finley Clutts (16)- 200 IM; Peyton Clutts (14)- 200 IM; Brooks Garrett (13)- 100 breast, 100 back; Ross Garrett (15)- 200, 400 IM; Alexa Smith (9)- 50 breast, 50 back; Sam Steele (13)- 100 breast, 1650 free and Erin Finn (15)- 100 back, 200 fly.

HBT swimmers outstanding at State meet.
Hoover Lady Bucs win Team Title!

Many of our HBT swimmers particiapted last weekend at the Alabama State High School Swim Championships held at Auburn University. The results were great and included a Team victory for the Hoover High girls. This group included: Claire Willaimson, Natalie Swindle, Allison Smith, Kylie Vanlandingham and Nicole Smith. The Hoover girls ended the meet in fashion by winning the 400 free relay in a new State record time of 3.35!
HBT swimmers that scored in the Top 16 of individual events:
Claire Williamson- 100 and 200 free
Natalie Swindle- 100 back and 100 fly
Allison Smith- 100 free and 100 back
Nicole Smith- 200 free and 100 back (100 back time of 59.92 ranked 4th incountry for 12 yer olds).
Kylie VanLandingham- 500 free
Alan Parsons- 200 and 500 free
Maddie Kamman- 50 and 100 free
Finley Clutts- 100 fly and 500 free
Peyton Clutts- 100 back
Maryellen Newton- 200 and 500 free

Reggie Rage (aka Abby Williamson) - Part II
Abby Williamson's (Reggie) performance this past weekend at the inaugural Southern Classic was one of many fine performances turned in by HBT swimmers. Abby won 5 of her events and in the process established 7 new HBT team records (50, 100, 200 free, 50, 100 back, 200 IM and 100 breast). Her time of 58.69 in the 100 free ranks 3rd best in the country at this time! Nice job Ab's!
Not to be outdone was teammate Sam Steele (13) who finaled in all his events and set 4 team records (200 IM, 50, 200 free and 100 fly). Sam's times in the 50, 200 free and 200 fly are ranked in the Top 20 nationally for 13 yr old males. His fly time of 54.60 is 11th!
Nicole Smith (12), Molly Steele (12) and Jacob Icimsoy (11) swam superbly with the trio establishing almost 100 % best times. Nicole won the 50, 100 back with both swims being Nationally ranked times. Jacob won the 100 free with a superb 57.90!
Finley Clutts (16) got his name in the team record book with a good swim in the 500 free at 4.48.19
Others having great meets were: Arianna Zamani (9), Erika Han (9), Nami Odashima (10) and Xavier Verdad (14). Xavier won both the 100 and 200 breastrokes while achiveing SE cuts in both events.
New Senior Sectional Cuts: Katelyn Duke (16)- 100 fly; Ross Garrett (15)- 200 free and Claire Willaimson (17)- 400 IM.

Reggie Rages!
Abby Williamson (aka-Reggie) took the Cranberry Classic for a ride in the 10-under girls division. In the first meet at the Crossplex faciltiy, Abby found the water to her liking by winning 9 of 10 events and in the process broke 5 HBT team records (100, 200 Im, 50,100,200 free). Way to go Reggie!
In addition to Abby's team records, several more were established by other HBT swimmers. Sam Steele broke records in the 13-14 boys 100 and 200 free, while Peyton Clutts (14) broke the 100 back record. The senior girls 200 free relay (Williamson, Duke, Swindle,Kamman) also established a new mark.
Maddie Kamman (16) turned in a fine meet by swimming to 2 senior sectional time stanndards in the 100 free and 100 fly. She joins teammates Finley Clutts, Ross Garret and Alan Parsons with senior sectional cuts this season.
New SE Championship cuts were established by: Mary Ellen Newton (15)- 1000 free; Alexa Smith (9)- 100 back; Xavier Verdad (14)- 50 free and Tyler Whitehurst (14)- 1000 free, 200 fly.
