HBT Volunteer
Commitment
Hoover Blue Thunder Swimming is a
non-profit organization made up of very dedicated coaches,
swimmers, and volunteers! Parent and family volunteers are
a crucial part of your childs swimming experience. Without
our parent and family volunteers, our high-quality swimming
program would not be possible.
Who is a Volunteer?
A volunteer is a parent,
grandparent, age-appropriate sibling, or an age-apprpriate family
friend who is willing to help perform any one of the necessary
jobs in HBT Swimming. Your role as a volunteer is extremely
important! You can be actively involved in your child's swimming
program and can also be instrumental in strengthening swimming
as a whole. With a positive attitude and a willingness to lend a
hand, you will also have a great impact on your child's athletic
environment and love of swimming.
There are unlimited opportunities
to get involved to help in almost any capacity. The rewards are
meeting new people, making new friends and having that great
feeling that you have helped one of the organizations in which
volunteers are the most important people.
What is my Volunteer Commitment?
Since volunteering is so very
important for the success of our team, each swimming family is
responsible for earning a certain number of volunteer points each
year based on the highest lever swimmer of that family. Each
family with a Senior, Gold, Silver I, or Silver II swimmer is
expected to earn 250 points annually. Each family with a
Bronze swimmer is expected to earn 150 points. New swimming
families with Mini and PC swimmers are not required to volunteer,
but are encourage to get involved in any way they can. At
the end of the year, any remaining unearned points are converted
to a financial commitment of $1 per unearned point. Since
there are so many opportunities, we hope to never have to bill
anyone.
How can my family satisfy our
Volunteer Commitment?
See Volunteer Opportunities page for many
of the volunteer opportunities available, a brief description,
and point values associated with each job.
