| Parent Meeting | At various times during the swimming year, the HBT Board President or the Head Coach may call for a Parent meeting. These meetings will usually last no longer than one hour. If a parent meeting is called, it is very important for at least one parent to attend. (Point value is per family.) | 25 |
| Concessions | This Committee will manage concessions at both HBT-sponsored swim meets. They will purchase items that are needed. The will also organize the parent donations. They will be responsible for setting up and breaking down all of the concession area. This is a good job for someone with a small child, because the concession stand is located in the Rec Center Gym along with Clerk of Course and is where most swimmers hang out between races. | 25 per meet session |
| Electronic Equipment | This section of volunteers is responsible for maintaining the electronic equipment in good working order. This includes hardware and software proficiency as well as recommending necessary upgrades. At least 3 knowledgeable volunteers are needed each swimming year. | 50 per year |
| Heat Sheets | These volunteers are responsible for setting the deadline for the heat sheet ads. They will also collect assemble all of the ads that are to be included in the heat sheet. They will work closely with the Meet Director who will provide them with the meet information. They will be responsible for making copies of the heat sheets and transporting them to the first session of the swim meet. Previous meet experience is recommended. Two volunteers per year are needed. | 50 per meet |
| Officials | This group of volunteers is a highly trained group of individuals with ample swimming experience. They will be responsible for officiating at swim meets, and will help set up officials clinics during the year to remind officials of their renewal requirements and dates | 25 per meet session |
| Software Applications | This group of trained volunteers are responsible for administrative clerk of course, electronic judging, computer entry, and the Colorado timing system at a swim meet. At least 5 volunteers are needed for each session of a swim meet. These positions are good for the technically oriented problem solvers who would like to sit for most of the meet on the pool deck. | 25 per meet session |
| Timers | Most parents begin their volunteer activities as lane timers. As a lane timer you operate various timing devices such as stop watches and buttons that are attached to the automatic timing equipment. Lane timers are responsible for starting their watches at the Starters signal and stopping their watches and activating their buttons with any part of the swimmers body touches the wall at the finish. The watch time is then recorded and used to determine race results. Timer meetings are usually held 10-15 minutes prior to the start of a meet session. At least one timer per lane is required to run a meet. | 25 per meet session |
| Head Timer | The head timer assures that all lanes have timers, working stop watches and buttons, clipboards, pencils, and timing cards or sheets. The head timer starts two watches on every race and delivers a working watch to timers when their own watches fail. The head timer is responsible for conducting the timers meeting/training session at the beginning of every session. | 25 per meet session |
| Announcer | The announcer keeps the swimmers and spectators informed during a swim meet. The announcer calls swimmers to the clerk-of-course and informs swimmers and spectators what event is being swum. | 25 per meet session |
| Runner | This agile volunteer is responsible for collecting timing sheets from each lane timer and place judging from the place judges at the end of each event. The runner will deliver this information to the computer table. | 25 per meet session |
| Clerk of Course | If you enjoy lots of contact with the swimmers and have good organizational skills, the clerk of course position may be for you. The clerk of course is not used for all sessions of a swim meet (older swimmers typically do not require a clerk of course), but is essential for younger swimmers. The clerk of course may check swimmers into the meet, scratch swimmers that are absent or do not intend to swim an event, and seed swimmers according to their entry times. The clerk of course may will shepherd swimmers from the gym to the starting blocks. | 25 per meet session |
| Committee Chairs | Responsible for organizing and coordinating all Committee activities. Also responsible for coordinating volunteers and collecting donations where applicable | 50 per year |
| Meet Set Up/Break Down | These volunteers do everything necessary to ensure the Rec Center is ready for the meet and returns the Rec Center to the original state following the meet. Various activities include setting our chairs for lanes, benches for clerk of course, tables for concessions, laying floor covering in the gym, etc. | 50 per meet |
| Board Members | HBT Swimming is governed by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors. Board members are nominated and voted on by the existing Board of Directors. Please notify the Board President if you are interested in fulfilling any of the various positions when they come available. | 50 per year |
| Hospitality | The Hospitality Committee is responsible for providing breakfast, lunch, and snacks to Coaches and full day volunteers (volunteers who work both meet sessions) at HBT sponsored swim meets. These volunteers seem to smile a lot and have great organization/planning skills and a love of preparing and presenting food. They are responsible for organizing and collecting donations for each meet and for ensuring preparation of meals and snacks for the Hospitality Room. | 25 per meet session |
| Volunteer Sign In | This volunteer is responsible for ensuring that meet volunteers are greeted with a smile, have signed in, and that they have name tags. This volunteer is responsible for notifying the Meet Volunteer Coordinator when volunteers either fail to show or when new volunteers are looking for some way to help. This is a great job for the new swimming parent or parent that also has an additional young child. Also a great way to meet and introduce yourself to other volunteers | 25 per meet session |
| Meet Volunteer Coordinator | This volunteer is an outgoing person with some swim meet experience and is responsible for ensuring that a volunteer is scheduled for each session and position necessary to run a meet. This is an extremely important volunteer position. | 50 per meet |
| Social Committee | These volunteers are outgoing planners who will be responsible for organizing and planning various swim team social functions. These functions include but are by no means limited to: End of Season Banquet, Send Off Parties, Team Building Socials and Get-To-Know-Your-Teammates (and other parents) parties. These volunteers will meet to plan the function, will advertise and communicate necessary information to all team families, and will ensure that the function is fun for all. Three to five fun-loving volunteers are needed. | 50 per year |
